The EIDS City:
EIDS is a true Dubai company – a microcosm of a city that is a microcosm of the global market-place.
Located at the cross-roads between the traditional, ancient East and the stylish, modern West, Dubai has imbibed the best of both worlds and become a melting pot of cultures and traditions. Dubai’s relatively small population of just over 2 million finds representation from all corners of the world, and each community, each nationality adds to the flavor of the city in its own way. Over the decades, Dubai’s tastes have evolved to a level of refinement entirely its own, and yet Dubai has developed a knack for offering something of interest to every part of the world. It is only fitting that Dubai was chosen to host EXPO2020.
The EIDS Muse:
EIDS is the name we have chosen for our mission to draw on the over two million sources of inspiration our city offers us through its inhabitants. We infuse the creativity and ethnicity of a hundred different cultures into our designs and deliver a product that caters to the taste and the exacting standards of a city as vibrant and as diverse as Dubai. We think of ourselves as artists forever trying to capture the beauty and the mood of the EXPO 2020 city, and as artists, our muse is not a person, but a people, the people of the world who make up Dubai.
At EIDS, our commitment to quality is absolute. We know that quality cannot simply be a lofted ideal; for excellence in quality to be sustained, it has to be a way of life, a frame-work within which we operate, a mechanism which drives our business. We believe in a holistic approach to ensure that our commitment to quality is upheld in everything we do. Understandably, this commitment extends from how we do our business to how our products are manufactured.
The textile manufacturing process is a varied and complex process, and in many ways its history is the history of human civilization. Click on the tabs below for an introduction to the various stages in the Textile Manufacturing process.
Spinning is a major part of the textile industry. It is part of the textile manufacturing process where three types of fibre are converted into yarn. The quality of fibre and the choice of spinning technique and technology defines the quality of the yarn. EIDS relies on state of the art Spinning facilities to ensure that our yarn conforms to our quality standards.
Weaving is a method of fabric production in which two distinct sets of yarns or threads are interlaced at right angles to form a fabric or cloth. The method in which these threads are inter-woven affects the characteristics of the cloth. The majority of woven products are created with one of three basic weaves: plain weave, satin weave, or twill. The EIDS range of products is available in the basic weaves as well as other weaves like Jacquard weave.
Processing covers design development, shrinking, dyeing and the actual printing process. This is the stage which defines the visual element of our products. Our design development is rooted in our overall philosophy for each of our product lines, and continues to be the factor which distinguishes our products for our customers. Shrinking, Dyeing and Printing are the processes which ensure that our design concepts are translated into visual treats for our customers, and that our products withstand the test of time.
Finishing refers to the processes that convert the woven or knitted cloth into a usable material and more specifically to any process performed after dyeing the yarn or fabric to improve the look, performance, or “hand” of the finished textile or clothing. The precise meaning depends on context.
EIDS products undergo a stringent process of Raising, Singeing, Calendering, Pressing, Scouring and Chemical finishing where needed, so that the EIDS products fulfill the highest expectations of our customers.
Embroidery is the handicraft of decorating fabric or other materials with needle and thread or yarn. Traditionally, Embroidery used to lend a degree of exclusivity to textile products.
Today, it is used extensively in commercial branding and adornment by the hospitality industry as well as the healthcare sector. It is also a regular feature on exclusive ranges catering to the discerning clientele. Using modern technology and computerized embroidery machines, we ensure that our embroidery designs remain consistent in appearance and style at all times.
Stitching EIDS relies on high-tech computerized stitching systems to ensure that stitching quality remains consistent at all times and conforms to exacting standards of our customers.
